His Jealous boyfriend - May 15 2012

Let me just tell y’all what I did at one time to be hateful. It definitely was not my lowest point, but it was not very nice either. BUT IT SURE MADE ME LAUGH!!! (Cringe!!!!!) If you’re a friend of mine, you probably know I’m sassy, feisty, and can be a little bit mean. BUT I can also be really nice (and funny too). (thank goodness in 2025 I can honestly say that I would never describe myself like this now!)

Anyway, back to what I did that was a little bit mean…

So he was totally getting on my nerves one day—probably around the time he said he didn’t want to be my friend anymore, or maybe it was the week after I nursed him through his surgery and then he got a girlfriend five days later. But I digress…

I wanted to do something hateful, but I didn’t want to get arrested. So, I took a handful of peanut butter (crunchy, at that) and smeared it alllllll up under his car door handle. (This was and still is such an cringey thing to do. Yuck. Don’t be 2012 me you guys!) Imagine the end of the day: hard, dry, and crunchy peanut butter all over a pretty little car door handle. NOW, if you’re laughing at this, we can still be friends. If you think it’s mean, I apologize—but come on!

Of course, because of my irrational personality (his words, but I don’t disagree), he knew it was me. He actually laughed about it. (This is one reason I can say that he was such a compassionate soul. After all the annoying things I need, he was always so kind) BUT the reason I tell you this story is because that same week, I got a text message—not from him, but from his friend—berating me for doing something so childish. HIS FRIEND was doing this. “How dare I do something like this to him? He doesn’t deserve this. LEAVE HIM ALONE.”

(I’m sorry, but the last time I checked, a 33-year-old man does not need another one sticking up for him.) - This actually still holds true in 2025.

This wasn’t the first time his friend felt like we shouldn’t be hanging out or spending time together. Even after I told him to let my guy solve his own problems, he was still on my back—like it was his mission to save his buddy.

WELLLLLL, today I got a text from him AGAIN. No surprise!!!!!!! And let me tell you how it started.

“I’m just teasing, but do you think I should start a blog about my irrational friend?” And then he listed off all the mean things I had ever done to his friend, NOT HIM.

UGH, really? Like mocking my blog is going to get me to stop? No, it actually gets you a ticket to the front row seat of a new post.

So, whatever. I feel bad that he thinks he has to defend his friend like his little puppy. I never responded to his text, by the way. I don’t need to. But I will say this—it made for a good laugh between my sister and me, and for a new blog post.

Now, think what you will, but I will say that I am not a princess and I can actually stay on my best behavior when times get tough. But these guys have pushed me to jump on the crazy train more than once. (This is a PERFECT example of a girl needing to heal and get self esteem!) And if it was all for this blog to come to be, that will lead to a book, that gets me on The Ellen Show and Today Show—then I thank them for the ride… ( thank goodness the Ellen show no longer exists in 2025. I would turn that opportunity down)
